I had the pleasure to meet Walter at The Meadows he was a true gentleman and always a pleasure to visit with. Will miss his smile and sense of humour. Sending my deepest condolences to all his family .

I remember Walt from when I was young. I would travel by bus to whichever town he and Joyce were living in their mobile trailer and visit them each summer. As a young woman, when I married Don, we would go as a foursome to dances around Swift Current. I fondly remember those times. One memory stands out: on a trip from Grenfell to Regina where I was catching a bus back home we were about to cross a railway track. There was no signal at the crossing. Walt was swatting a fly on the windshield. Joyce was in the back looking after baby Tammie. I screamed loudly "Train: and Walt stepped on the gas. We barely made it across before the engine passed us by! Thanks Walt for stepping on the gas.

Walt was a wonderful man. Very kind and generous to his employees and especially his family. I always enjoyed working with him on some large projects and for him for a couple years. He was a great teacher of his trade which I still treasure his knowledge today as he taught me a lot of stuff. I still reminisce to friends of the time I spent working for Walt. RIP
