Obituary of Cindy Gorrill
GORRILL- Cindy Lou passed away on July 24, 2023, at the Cypress Regional Hospital, finally at peace after bravely fighting a long and difficult battle with cancer. Cindy was born on July 13, 1963 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to Gerald and Mable (Sheets) Dawson.
Cindy is survived by David Gorrill, her loving husband of 41 years and their three children; daughter Ashley (Collin) Tinant and their children Alissa and Jackson; son Tyson (Allison) Gorrill and their children Dawson and Cooper; and son Neil (Shaunee) Gorrill and their children Bentley, Kimberly, and Rylee.
Cindy is predeceased by her parents Mable and Gerald Dawson and her father-in-law Keith Gorrill.
Cindy worked at the RCMP detachment in Ponteix for 36 years. In her free time she enjoyed baking, canning, and quilting, always creating things to brighten the lives of her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, she liked traveling and seeing new places together and she most enjoyed the time spent with her family at Cypress Hills. Cindy cared deeply about her family, and it was evident in everything that she did. She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Life was held at the First United Church In Swift Current on Monday, July 31st at 2 PM. A reception will follow the service. Donations in honour of Cindy’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Royal University Hospital Foundation, or the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. Arrangements are in the care of Parkside memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle and Hayden Cappelle.
