Obituary of Harry Zacharias
ZACHARIAS – Harry
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Zacharias at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK on June 17, 2022 at the age of 90. Harry was born on May 2, 1932 at Rhineland, MB to Peter and Margaretta (Unger) Zacharias. On October 29, 1955, he married Mary Dyck.
Harry is survived by his wife Mary, of 66 years; their son, Montgomery (Monty) and his daughter Olivia; their daughter Angela (Tim) Krahn and their daughters Brianne Krahn (Rhett Baldwin) and Allison Krahn (Matt Hofos); his sister Tina Whiting; his brother John (Claudia) Zacharias; sister-in-law Gwen Zacharias; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Margaretta Zacharias, his parents-in-law Jacob and Elizabeth Dyck; his daughter-in-law Julia Zacharias; his brother Frank Zacharias; his nephews Randy Zacharias and Ken Schellenberg; his half-brothers Peter (Kay) Zacharias and George (Tillie) Zacharias; his half-sister Susan (Ben) Schellenberg; and his brother-in-law Murray Whiting.
Harry will always be remembered for his dedication towards any task he faced. His handy ways, hard work and natural skills could fix any problem big or small. Family camping and fishing trips were a passion of his over the years. Harry loved spending time with his family and friends, always finding time for all who stopped by for a visit.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Mennonite Church with Reverend Lois Bukar officiating. A private family interment of the cremated remains will be held at Mount Pleasant Burial Parks, Swift Current, SK at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Kinsmen Telemiracle in Harry’s name would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle & Hayden Cappelle.
