Obituary of Wanda Friesen

FRIESEN – WANDA it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wanda Friesen. She passed away at the Meadows on Sunday, May 23, 2021 after a long illness.  Wanda is predeceased by : (husband) Jimmie Friesen, parents Abe & Annie Dyck, sister Myrna Dyck, grandparents Peter & Helena Dyck, grandparents, Nicolas & Megnalena Kutschall. She is survived by brother Richard Dyck.  Wanda was a daughter, a sister, a wife and a friend.  Wanda lost her sister and parents at a young age and often spoke of missing them very much.  Her married life was short but with Jimmie it was a life filled with love and joy.  Jimmie always called her his little computer as she could recall all the families birthdays.  Wanda made friends easily and enjoyed working at the Abilities Centre as well as the bakery at Safeway.  After Wanda became ill she was moved to Gull Lake Special Care Centre and then to Swift Current at the Meadows.  While living at the Meadows she enjoyed arts and crafts, listening to country music and bingo.  She became very close with the nurses and like to help in any way she could.  A service will be held for Wanda at Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, June 4, 2021. She will be laid to rest at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.  For Wanda “ We loved you in the body, now we love you in the spirit and wait patiently in faith till we are all together again”.
