NEUFELD – Mary (Enns) age 97 passed away peacefully September 3, 2020 at the Meadows Long Term Care Facility. Mary was born in the village of Alexandertal, Ukraine, March 24, 1923 the 6th child of Frank and Anna Enns, of Dutch lineage. In 1926 when Mary was 3 years old, her family immigrated to Canada to a farm near Rush Lake, SK. Mary married Cornelius Neufeld on September 23, 1949 and they had 4 children. Mary worked at Woolworths for 3 years and then the Swift Current Union Hospital for over 20 years. Mary enjoyed golfing, traveling, walking and coffee time with her friends. Mary’s faith was very important to her, she had an abiding love and faith in her God that sustained and encouraged her. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and in recent years her 7 great grandchildren. Mary’s face would light up with joy when seeing or talking to them. Mary at the age of 95 was still playing crokinole with her grandson and evening winning some games! Mary is survived by her 4 children; Gord (Lennie), Ken (Pat), Rod and Shirley and her 8 grandchildren; Janine (Rob), Paul (Samantha), Tyson (Tanya), Tami (Rick), Cherise (John), Mitch (Ren), Bryce (Courtney), Melissa (Tim), and 7 great grandchildren; Brynn, Mia & Maci, Blake, Kadence, Karlee and Bailey. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law; Helen Neufeld, Bette Heinrichs, Mary Friesen, Lena Sawatzky and her brother-in-law Peter Neufeld. Mary was predeceased by her parents Frank & Anna Enns, husband Cornie in 1992; siblings Frank, John, Margaret, Chuck, Sue & Pete; brothers-in-law Dan Loewen, Pete Unger, Louis Wagner, Frank Neufeld, and John Sawatzky; sisters-in-law Kay Enns, Shirley Enns, Ann Neufeld and Erna Neufeld. Mary will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Mary has been described as a sweet lady by her caregivers. Mom’s mischievous twinkle and infectious giggle will be missed. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the caring staff of House 15 at the Meadows. A family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK.
