We are so sorry to hear of our cousin’s passing. We wish we could be there with Rita and the family at Rene’s funeral. We will be watching via live stream. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Rita, the girls and their families. We didn’t see him often but I remember he and Rita always being there for all important family events. Mom (Aunty Blanche) and dad always spoke very highly of their nephew, Rene as well as Rita and the other Hardy boys. I remember Rene as being the fun and mischievous of the Hardy boys! I wish to express to my condolences to Rieta and family on the loss of Rene. He helped with many repairs, but also projects like helping me set up a lathe, and always with a skill that was enviable. I enjoyed spending time with him on those projects, and also times spent on the range shooting silhouette's (where his skill was also better than mine.) He was one of the first to phone me with support when I faced some health issues a number of years ago. He was able to fix anything mechanical, from cars and trucks to small tractors and large. It was always a pleasure to have him show his model engines and machines and to see the pride that he took in his extraordinary workmanship. Doug Richards

Our condolences to Renes family. Rene was a brilliant man who loved a challenge, he helped me out a lot when I had the shop in Vanguard repairing various things along with building me a press and all kinds of things that I needed.It always amazed me the quality of his work how clean he kept his shops and all of his projects built from scratch.Also never had to wonder how he felt about something or someone as he was quick to share his opinion! A unique person who will be missed.

Rene and I visited a lot in his shop in Vanguard.What ever I took there he fixed. We always joked around.He was a very good friend.I will miss him .Linda and I cannot attend the celebration of life.Our deepest sympathy to all the family. Harvey and Linda Wright.
