Obituary of Archie Ruttle
RUTTLE - Archie Cecile, died quietly and peacefully in his own home in Climax, Saskatchewan, at the age of 90, on Saturday, November 17th, 2018. He was born on May 7th, 1928, in Bracken, Saskatchewan, to Roy Ruttle and Helen Mae Ruttle (nee: Lewis), who pioneered and settled in the Bracken area in 1911. Archie was married to Ann Cuerrier (nee: Hrychuk) for 30 years until she died in 2010. He was a step-father to four of Ann’s children - Julie Ruttle from Red Deer, Alberta, Robert Cuerrier from Edmonton, Alberta, Linda Wicker from Ottawa, Ontario, and Bernard Cuerrier also from Ottawa, Ontario. He was a step-grandfather to Colleen Homme, Philip Ruttle, Samantha Poulin, Sean Cuerrier, Melissa-Kate Cuerrier, Erin Wicker and James Wicker, and a great step-grandfather to Tyson, Steaven, Ryder, Liam and Tommy. Archie worked as a rancher and farmer alongside his brother, Clarence, who died in 2009. He was particularly well known for his extensive work with the Municipality of Lone Tree as a Councilman and then later for his work as Reeve. He also spent 28 years on the Board of the Bracken and Shaunavon Credit Union for which he received many awards for his achievements and for his service to the community. In 2015, he married his friend Heather Diduck and became a step-father to Anita, Steven and Dr. Ian DVM: DACVS-LA Devick and step-grandfather to Addel, Hanna and Payton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30th, 2018, at the Bracken United Church, starting at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Archie’s name to the charity of your choice.
