Obituary of Phyllis Reimer
REIMER – Phyllis Jane age 89 of Herbert passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26th at the Herbert Integrated Care Facility. Phyllis was born on July 16th, 1929 to Fredrick and Carrie Eichorst in the Rush Lake district. She was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church and confirmed at Lanigan in 1946. Phyllis married Alfred Reimer on April 8th, 1947 in Janzen. They made their home farming in the Rush Lake district. Phyllis was a hard worker always made her family a priority. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, planting her flowers, knitting, sewing and reading her Bible. She also loved her Blue Jays and Saskatchewan Rough Riders games on T.V. Phyllis is survived by her children: Garnet Reimer, Sharon Wiebe, Lorna (George) Tsougrianis, Terry Reimer, Landis (Gaylynn) Reimer; son-in-law Allen Dilworth; 8 grandchildren and their spouses and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Gordon (Vicki) Eichorst, Joyce (Al) Bernawer, Jean (Allan) Orchard, Marie Gratton, Caroline Thrane, Pat (Dennis) McFarland; sister-in-law Margarethe Meyer and numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Alfred, daughter Shirley, son-in-law Dave Wiebe, her parents Fred & Carrie Eichorst, her mother and father-in-law Peter & Lydia Reimer, sister-in-law Laura (Clarence) Steinley, brother-in-laws Arnold Reimer, Bill Meyer, Alden Reimer, Arthur Reimer, George Siegel, Martin Stephan, Lloyd Gatton, Eric Thrane and sister-in-law Muriel Eichorst and also by Evelyn & Elmer Prang. A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. The interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Donations in memory of Phyllis can be made to the Diabetes Association or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
