Obituary of Harvey Gerald Reimche

REIMCHE - Harvey Gerald, age 101, passed away at The Meadows Care Center Swift Current, July 2^nd, 2018. Harvey was born in the family house, 3 miles north of Scottsburgh, SK. on March 31^st, 1917. He went to Ensz School one mile north of the farm until grade 9 when he had to help farm full time. At 21 he worked for various farmers, married at 28 to Edna Schwartz from Neidpath. They lived in Moose Jaw and Swift Current until they took over the Reimche family farm in the late 50’s.  Harvey had numerous carpentry jobs including building complete houses, cupboards, and renovations within the district plus farming full time. He and Edna loved curling, golfing, fishing, travelling and partaking in Senior events such as pool, and shuffleboard. There was never a problem too difficult for him to solve. In his later years he loved to do crosswords, sudoku, and cryptograms. Harvey’s other great interest was the Blue Jay Baseball Team. He was an avid fan and never missed a game if he could help it. Harvey is survived by his four children; Ronald (Lorna) Reimche, Janet (Rod) Schwartz, Robert (Bud) Reimche, and Judith (Larry) Thorburn, seven grandchildren; Geoffrey (Billie Jo) Reimche, Melanie (Gerald) Delorme, Gregory (Jackie) Reimche, Twyla (John) Mize, Ryan (Brandy) Thorburn, Dallas (Karen) Schwartz, Jamie (Brent) Block, and sixteen great-grandchildren; Caleb, Samuel, Aaron, Chrisalyn and Keanna Mize; Zachary and Ty Thorburn;  Morgan and Justin Delorme;  Emily, Owen and Levi Block; Austin and Landon Schwartz; Wilson and Mackenson Reimche: sister Hazel Wagner, half-sister Lucille Bochek, half-brother Robert (Bob) and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by mother Sarah in 1923, father Albert in 1969, step-mother Anna in 1970, wife Edna in 2001, and sisters Louella Sartison, Florabelle Sorensen, Lillie Schwartz, step-sister Helen Pound and great-grandson Garrett John Delorme. Service was held on Saturday July 7^th, 2018 at the Eastside Church of God. Pastor Kevin Snyder officiated. Pallbearers were Geoffrey and Gregory Reimche, John and Caleb Mize, Gerald Delorme and Ryan Thorburn. Harvey and family were so grateful for the care he received at The Meadows.
