Obituary of Ralph Biese

BIESE – Ralph Joseph, passed away peacefully at the Palliser Regional Care Centre in Swift Current, on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the age of 93 years. Ralph was born on the Biese homestead, NE 19-16-14 on July 17, 1915.
He was raised on the family farm Northwest of Swift Current, and attended Belvidere School. He loved gardening, even when he was a young boy, and he spent many hours making beautiful crafts out of rock and wood. Ralph also enjoyed playing ball, and playing music. He was very proud of his ribbons he won at fiddle contests and he spent many happy years as a member of the Swift Current Old Time Fiddlers. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Hattie Biese, daughter Helen Hilton, in-laws Frank and Jean Osborne their children Marge (Bob) Ford and Morris Osborne. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty (Osborne); children, Carol (Ralph) Schmiess, Doug (Debbie), Linda (Abe) Wall, Jerry (Karen) and Judy (Norm) Polsfut; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Stan Osborne, sister-in-law Adelene Osborne and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Palliser Regional Care Centre Activity Fund. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Church with Shirley Wilson officiating. The organist was Marilyn King and special music was preformed by Lori Peters. The ushers were grandchildren; Trevor Schmeiss, Tanya Himmelspeck, Shane Wall, Dallas Biese and Jennifer Fehr. A eulogy was read by: Lisa Clarke, Alison Biese and Amanda Polsfut. The interment took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.
