MCLEOD Mrs. Marjorie Elizabeth Grace (nee Johnston), aged 72 years, passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current on July 17, 2009.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Mary (Denis) Giasson, grandsons, Corey (Holly), great-grandchildren, Mckenna and Koen, Mark (Shannon), and Todd; her son, David (Jane) MacLeod, grandsons, Matthew (Heather), and Chad; her siblings: Ruby (Ellard Ross), Murden (Marjorie) Johnston, Verna, Diane, Kathleen (Bill) Hobbs, Heather; sister-in-law, Marjorie Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, George McLeod; parents, John and Blanche Johnston; brother, Ellard; brothers-in-law, Jim Carrier, Veldon Bennett; in-laws: Hugh and Edna McLeod, Mac and Jesse McLeod, Chesley and Margaret Wilson. Marjorie was born on August 25, 1936 in Renfrew, Ontario. She was raised in Renfrew, Ontario and attended school in Douglas. In 1954 she married her soul mate and loving husband, George. They shared a loving relationship of 36 years filled with fun, laughter and a strong commitment to each other. They worked side by side on their family farm near Douglas, Ontario. In 1978 they moved to Shaunavon. Mom got a job as a housekeeper at Shaunavon Nursing Home. Later, became Activity Director, a job she truly enjoyed. She loved being a homemaker, baking for the family and attending her flowers. After Dad died, she moved to Swift Current with her little companion, Buffy. Here she met a great bunch of girlfriends that shared many bus trips, coffee and city events together. We teased her often about having her own table at Tim’s. Her greatest love was spending time with family, especially her 5 grandsons, and 2 great-grandchildren. She will; be remembered as a loving Mother, Mother-in-law and Grandmother with a great sense of humor. A private family service will be held at a later date. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Lung Association. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home, Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
