Obituary of Jody Nichols

NICHOLS – Jody (Joan) with great sadness we announce the passing of Jody (Joan) Nichols on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK. Jody was born in Regina on May 22, 1941. Predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Orval Lewis; her stepmother, Elva; her brother, David Lewis and her stepsister, Leslie Young. Left to mourn her passing is her daughter, Lisa (Jay) Duke and grandchildren: Zachrey, MacKenna, Karter and Halle; her sisters, Ann Wiebe and Beth Kirkland; her brothers, William Lewis and Kevin Lewis and stepsisters, Judy Wolfe and Linda Young. Jody spent many years in Alberta as a facilitator of people with disabilities. She retired in 2004 and has resided in Swift Current, SK since that time. She enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting. We remember Jody that, even, though she had many tough times in her life, she remained strong in her faith and was always ready to share a good laugh with those around her. The family would like to thank the staff of Home Care and TLC for the love and care given to Jody during her years in Swift Current. A Memorial Service was held at Parkside Memorial Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 with Pastor John Regier officiating.
