Our deepest condolences to the entire Hanson family on Earl's passing. I was fortunate to meet Earl in about 1984 when he worked for Pioneer CU and I worked for a rival CU down the street (Western CU). Later, Earl and Wayne Claypool hired me as Pioneer CU's Southside Branch Manager in 1991. It was then that I learned what a knowledgeable and dedicated person he really was. He taught me, as well as all the other employees, much over the years and he always displayed a very strong work ethic. Later we would come to work together on the Southwest CU management team.
I was always truly amazed at how Earl could work with members (who were in a very stressful and sometimes desperate situation) and when he finished working his magic.....Earl had the full respect of the borrowers, who knew that he had done the best that he could do for all concerned. Earl worked very hard to better educate himself and to help improve the CU system at the provincial level. Earl was on the Board of Directors for the CU Employees Pension Fund and I always felt that we were in much better hands and better decisions were made when Earl was involved. No one was going to pull the wool over his eyes.
RIP my friend, you are sadly missed by all those who came to know you and were able to see what you stood for.
