HUGHES – Cecil David passed away peacefully on July 22, 2011 with his family by his side at the age of 100. Born at Woodnorth, MB June 15, 1911 and lived in Abbey-Hazlet area form 1912 to 1947 and then moved to Swift Current, SK and married Jean Sheils in 1932.
Cecil was predeceased by his wife Jean of 66 years as well as his brothers and sisters. He is survived by 2 sisters-in-law; Irene Sheils, Helen Hughes; his children, David (Myrna) and Donald (Lorraine); 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren all residing in Manitoba. His life was committed to being a Christian in word and deed. His Bible reading was a very important part of his every day life. His giving, caring and helping spirit made his last years at Calvary Place special and enjoyable. A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.
