WISHART (nee Quebec) – Betty Marie age 55 passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Betty was born in Edmonton, AB on February 13, 1956.
She is survived by her sons; Jamie (Amanda) Wishart, Richard (Natasha) Taylor, Bob (Jaime) Taylor and all of her grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Ken (Alice) Quebec, Fern (Lloyd) Thompson, Lorna (Michel) Gabin, Peter (Dorothy) Quebec, Gord Quebec, Dennis (Kathy) Quebec; numerous nieces and nephews and by her uncle Len (Marg) Swenson. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Larry John William Wishart; her mother Violet and father Lorne Quebec; her aunt Shirley Swenson and numerous aunts and uncles. Betty was born in Edmonton, AB but moved shortly after to Swift Current. She married Larry Wishart on July 29th, 1972. Her family of 5 then moved to Stewart Valley in 1978 where she spent her time gardening, raising her sons and baking. In 1989 she realized her dream of buying her own restaurant, Mom’s Korner. They successfully ran Mom’s Korner until 1994 when they had to sell the restaurant due to Larry’s health problems. After selling the business, she spent her time taking care of Larry, which was a full time job. She enjoyed painting, reading, knitting and of course her favorite hobby – Bingo. At Betty’s request there will be no funeral service but a private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Betty.
