Obituary of Milton Blehm

BLEHM – Milton Dennis passed away suddenly on September 28, 2011 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Milt was born on July 8, 1945 in Leader, SK.
He attended school in Leader and played hockey as a young teenager. During school he met Sophie Hildemar (Blehm). As a young man he worked for Case Power Equipment and he married Sophie and had 2 wonderful children; Cory Milton and Renee Marie. He continued to work in northern Alberta for 30 years. During that time he received “Top Sales Award” 3 times. Then was promoted to Manager and he brought Case Power Equipment Stores up to top sales. Also during this period of time he and Sophie went on their own paths of life. He continued to live in northern Alberta for a short time thereafter. He then moved to Kyle, SK and started farming with his Step-father Herman Thompson. It was then he met Sandy Omland and continued farming for over 20 years until his passing. Milt was a great man with a big heart. A man you could always count on, a man full of wit and spirit – living life to the fullest. He will live on in the hearts and thoughts of all the family and all who loved him. He will be fondly remembered by his send of humor by all. On this day Milton became an angel far above the clouds and he will watch over everyone he loved from this day on. Milt is survived by: his son Cory Milton Blehm and his wife Jennifer; daughter Renee Marie Blehm; grandchildren Stacey, Jason, Myranda and Amber; Sophie Blehm (mother of Cory & Renee); brothers Calvin (Diane) Blehm, Vern (Evelyn) Blehm; his wife Sandy Omland and her sons; Bevan, Dana and Danny. Milton was predeceased by; Herman (Shorty) Blehm – Father, Herman Thompson – Stepfather and Agnes Thompson – Mother. A funeral service was held on October 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Kyle Lutheran Church in Kyle with Pastor Linda Hall officiating. Special Music was by Sheldon Albrecht and thoughts and prayers were shared by Jennifer Blehm (wife of Cory Blehm and sister-in-law of Renee Blehm). The pallbearers were: Colin Blehm, Shawn Blehm, John Stojan, Sheldon Albrecht, Danny Omland and Bevan Omland. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. The interment took place at the Clearwater Cemetery, Kyle, SK.
