Obituary of Nettie Fehr

FEHR – Nettie Fehr (nee Wiebe) was born on July 29, 1927 at Osler, SK. She passed away at the Palliser Care Centre in Swift Current, SK on October 5, 2013 at age 86. Mom was raised around the Osler and Rhineland area, close to Saskatoon. She had nine sisters and five brothers. She married John C. Fehr on July 14, 1946. They had nine children: Elmer, Norman, Nancy, Gale, Gloria, Shirley, Seymour, Lester and Lyndon. Mom loved and prayed daily for each one of her children and grandchildren. Mom is survived by daughter-in-law Elaine (Crystal, Tim Bickner and children Danae and Hunter; Chad and son Austin), son Norman and Bev (Twila, Menno Driedger; Jennifer, Wayne Brazeau and children Brooklyn, Mackinley, Madison; Colleen, Leroy Hattum and children Jordon, Jessie and Jazzlin), daughter Nancy Thibault (Sharlene, Ken Schmidt and children Dillon Downey, Kennedy and Brooklyn; Rachel, Cordon Geisam and children Robyn, Jessica, Morgyn and Nathan; Noreen, Curtis Volk and children Jayden and Kierra; Valerie Thibault, Jody St. Jacques and children Payton and Darris Evesque), son Gale and Vera (Ivan, Anita and children Randal, Darryn, Kaitlyn and Dustin; Angeline and children Samuel and Sylvia), daughter Gloria Olfert (Krista, Shaun Erickson and daughter Irelyn; Camilla, Greg Dahl and daughter Daylin; Landin), daughter Shirley and Tom DeWitt (Christina and children James, Owen and Dakota), son Seymour and Helen (Lloyd, Elaine and daughter Chloe; Jennifer and Steve Russell; Leah and Andrew McCorkill), daughter-in-law Patty (Dale Elton; Tasha, Tanner Willshaw and child Lexi; Ashley, Chris Theise and children Hunter and Jacklyn; Thomas John), son Lyndon, sisters Margaret and Tina and brother Ben. Mom was predeceased by seven sisters and four brothers, husband John (1985), grandson Patrick (1985), grandson Clancy (1990), sons Elmer and Lester (1999), grandson Tyler (2002), son-in-law Fern Thibault (2010) and son-in-law Rick Olfert (2013). Mom was a hard worker and loved to sing while she worked. She sewed a lot of quilts including two for each of her children and one for each one of her grandchildren! She also enjoyed painting liquid embroidery. Mom loved roses and gardening; anyone who enjoyed the fresh garden vegetables knows that she had a green thumb when it came to gardening. Mom loved to attend church. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Swift Current. Mom read the bible at least once a year. She enjoyed bible lessons and spent many years as a church elder. Mom had a lot of friends and she cherished her time with them when they would stop in for coffee and a chat. Mom will be greatly missed by all, but we know she has been welcomed into her Father’s heavenly home. The funeral service for Mrs. Nettie Fehr was held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Parkside Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Graham Glover officiating. The ushers were: Cordon Geisam and Clarence Suppes. The pallbearers were grandsons: Chad Fehr, Curtis Volk, Leroy Hattum, Ivan Fehr, Landin Olfert and Lloyd Fehr. The interment was held at the Wymark Cemetery. To honor mom’s memory, any memorial donations may be made to the Foyer St. Joseph in Ponteix. Donations received will go toward special needs or equipment for the residents. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home, Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
