Obituary of Larry Faber
Please share a memory of Larry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
FABER – Victor Lawrence (Larry), was born June 22, 1944 in Swift Current, SK. Larry lived his entire life on the Faber farm that his parents started, in the Cantuar district. He lived a full, good life, grain farming and raising black angus cattle. He married Shirley Campbell from Beverly, SK, in 1964. They had two daughters and two sons; Lorrie (Darwin) Plewis, Stephanie (Jeff) Kratchmer, Chad Faber and Craig Faber. Larry had eight grandchildren; Dallas (Kathleen) Plewis, Daylon (Jordie) Plewis, Darby Gerlach, Devon Ransom Faber, Terra Ransom Faber, Brenda Peciak Faber, Donna Peciak Faber and Jerrett Peciak Faber. He also had four great grandchildren, Sophia, Kylie, Janelle and Audrina. Larry was predeceased by his parents Chris and Vicky Faber and son Chad Faber. Larry enjoyed playing ball, curling and dancing in his younger years. He also enjoyed playing a good game of chess and crib. Family, friends and neighbors were important to him and he enjoyed socializing with everyone. Travelling was also something he enjoyed over the years, including day trips with Shirley, discovering new areas they’d never seen. Many trips were also taken to visit kids, grandkids, siblings and their families. Larry was a man of integrity, with a heart of gold and a fun loving personality. A hard work ethic and honesty were very important to him. His family were blessed to have some special and tender moments together during the seven weeks of his illness, from his diagnosis to his death. They were able to care for him at home until a few days before his passing. They wish to thank Dr. Ghori and Dr. Kamel for their kind and supportive care for Larry, as well as the hospital nurses, home care nurses and Clover House palliative care staff. They also wish to thank all their family, friends and neighbors who prayed for them, loved and supported them with their phone calls, texts and visits, all the food brought to them and help whenever needed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cystic Fibrosis, a cause dear to Larry’s heart, or to the palliative care unit of the Clover House. There will be a celebration of life on April 14, 2018 at the Success Hall between 2:00-4:00 pm. For further information or to sign the family book of condolences, visit www.parksidefuneralhome.com.
