Joyce was a special part of our lives for over 25 years. She was a kind and generous neighbour. She listened and laughed and gave wonderful advice. You couldn’t help but feel lighter after a good visit and tea with Joyce. Her positive outlook was a wonderful example to all of us.
I have never forgotten her generosity in having our family of 5 over for Christmas dinner the year my own Mom passed away. That’s a lot of extra chairs at the table. We were privileged to watch the fireworks from the newly built sunroom for Saskatchewan’s Centennial celebration. She became a bonus Grandma for our kids. She attended recitals, concerts, and end of year events in support of our three kids growing up. We shared a love of reading and exchanged a few books over the years. I enjoyed a few years of typing her witty Christmas poems and reading updates on the Scott family at the same time. I loved listening to her remember the story of Carson walking over to her house and needing a rest, or driving to the tea room in Beverley with Rachel when she remarked that she would have packed a suitcase if she had known we were going so far away.
I loved her story of meeting Ewart and knowing him since childhood. I have loved these years of sharing our street, plants, stories, gifts, books, recipes and friendship.
Our sincerest condolences to every family member. She was so proud of each of you.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Joyce. My condolences to her children and grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart and of whom she was so proud. I first knew Joyce from our days at working together at the Coop and we became good friends. She has left a lasting impression on me and I will always remember her with fondness. She’ll live on in all of our memories. Take care.

Joyce was a wonderful lady. I worked with her at the Co-op. Many good laughs at coffee time. I know she loved her family very much as she talked proudly of each one of you. Enjoy your memories and treasure them. She will be missed.
