Obituary of Johnnie Peters
PETERS – Johnnie W passed away peacefully at the Meadows in Swift Current, SK on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 with his beloved wife and family at his side.
He is Survived by his wife Rose Peters, and children Sandra Kuebler (Sheldon) and their children Jen Cartwright (Heather), Wayne Cartwright (Char), Angela Kuebler, Niki Kuebler, Harvey Patton and his children, Ally, Lindsay (Kevin), Rhonda Metcalf (Blaine) and their children Derek (Steph) and Dustin, Clarence Borman (Theresa) and their son Brendon (Melinda). Great grandchildren Peyton Cartwright (Jarett), Asher Cartwright, Eli Kuebler, Katie Kuebler, Miah Hannen, Allyia Hannen, Brody Lavalle, Emily Lavallee, Maverick Empey, Nixon Empey.
He is predeceased by his Parents George and Matilda Peters; brothers: Jack, Harry, David; Sisters: Nettie, Marg, Rose, Velma, Susan.
Johnnie was born on the family farm in Langham SK, and attended school in Neuhoffnung School District No. 951, afterwards he took pride in his job working for the City of Saskatoon as a heavy equipment operator for more than 25 years. He moved to Swift Current after his retirement.
Johnnie enjoyed going to the auctions and when he moved into the meadows he enjoyed taking part in the countless activities such as boxing, curling, and pool.
Johnnie had the most warming personality and contagious smile, anytime you saw him you got the pleasure of getting the biggest “Johnnie hug” anyone who knew Johnnie knew that his love was unconditional and he had the kindest heart. Anytime you were around him you felt loved and welcome.
The family thanks the wonderful staff of house 17 at the Meadows for the care and kindness they gave to Johnnie, he loved and appreciated them more than they will ever know.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church in Swift Current, SK. The interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Donations in memory of Johnnie can be made to the Meadows Auxiliary.
